ADS7959: ADS7959 output is not right

Part Number: ADS7959

I am using ADS7959 in Manual Mode ,sometimes the sampled data is not right.  so  I set  the  channel fixed, then  capture the data with chipscop, it appears that  the SDI is right, but sometimes the SDO output data is wrong,i found that  the last bit in the N frame became '1' and  the N+1 frame is 0xffff, and the N+2 is the right data, please give some suggestion on the problem.

  • Hello,
To make sure I understand correctly, you are reading the same single channel, with a known DC input. This then lets you know what to expect as the output measurement. And checking the digital signals with chip scope.

When you are measuring the SDO, and find that Frame N, the LSB is high, is the input signal clean enough that this is not fluctuation of the input? This is a 12 bit device, thus LSB changing state is not unheard of. Are you also monitoring the input signal?
Does the next frame, N+1, only latches when the LSB is high?

Would you please share these scope shots?

    Regards, Cynthia
