AMC1305M25: AMC1305M25: Fclk

AMC1305 the Fclk =20Mhz is OK? Of course the datasheet means it can  work  On 20Mhz but  the test : why use 10Mhz? Table 2 the SINC3 R/OSR256

please note the Waveform figure.The yellow is AMC1305 ,the green is AD7403. The test is the input =0V. The AD7403 is 0101  but AMC1305 sometime 1100 sometimes 0101  so why?

Using a 20MHz clock with the AMC1305M25 is fine, this is the listed test conditions found in the datasheet. I do not see the 10MHz clock reference against Table 2, can you tell me what document you are referring to here?

As for the differences in the two devices with 0V input, I do not know anything about the AD device which would cause a difference in the bit-stream output under these conditions, but with an average of 50/50 'ones and zeros', the output data from the digital filter should be the same.

For the TIDA-00171 hardware, I will defer to the team who put that design together and ask them to comment. These reference designs are typically not available for sale, but there may be a demo setup available.

Please have a look at the data sheet, beginning with section 7.10 on page 10. At the top of the page we describe the operating conditions used when measuring the data in the table. Note that CLKIN = 20 MHz for all tests shown.

I do not have files or wave-forms other than what is in the datasheet that I can share with you. There may be some additional detail in the reference design files that Navaneeth pointed you to. As for the detail in the datasheet, the characterization was done with a test board that used a digital filter to capture the bitstream from the AMC1303M25, we did not use the demo board noted earlier in this post.

Welcome to our e2e forum!  The AMC1305M25 operates at 20MHz with no issues.  The 00110011... pattern may have been a result of a slight offset or common mode voltage.  I found a capture from an inverter project that used two AMC1305M25 devices.  The yellow trace is a 20MHz clock, the blue and purple traces are data from the AMC1305 devices.
