ADS8332: analog ground and digital ground

Part Number: ADS8332

Hi,

How should we connect analog ground and digital ground?

1. directly together.

2. through a 0ohm resistor together

3. through small inductor together.

Does this method apply to all ADCs?

  • Hello Howard,

For the vast majority of TI's ADCs, the AGND and DGND connections must not stray more than 300mV away from each other without violating the abs max ratings of the device and causing damage. Therefore, they should be connected directly together, not through ferrite beads or inductors.
Please take a look at this FAQ thread which should be helpful. e2e.ti.com/.../755516
