ADS1675REF: Power supply for the ADS1675REF evaluation module

Part Number: ADS1675REF

Dear People,

I have a software engineer in the Houston, Texas area creating a driver to operate between the ADS1675 card we have designed and the Opal Kelly XEM3010.  I had TI ship a ADS1675REF evaluation module to him.  What I need to know is the power supply included with the evaluation module or do we have to supply separately the power source?  The principle reason that I am asking this is because the evaluation module requires +5 VDC, +9 VDC, and -4 DVC for proper operation.

Thanks,

John Thomas

  • Hi John,

There is no power supply included with the kit. You will need a standard triple output lab supply to power the board. The ADS1675REF is preconfigured to share the 5V supply with the XEM3010 board. This does not give best performance, but will provide full functionality for code development.

Please refer to section 7 in the ADS1675REF user's guide for details.

Connect lab supply +9V to the +Vcc terminal on J4-1.
Connect lab supply -4V to the -Vcc terminal on J4-3.
Connect lab supply ground to the GND terminal on J4-2.
Connect lab supply +5V to +5VA terminal on J5-1.
Connect lab supply ground to the GND terminal on J5-2.

Do not connect any other supply voltages to the ADS1675REF board or the XEM3010 board. The XEM3010 will receive power from the ADS1675REF board in the default configuration.
