DAC5682Z: The output voltage decreases with the increase of frequency.

Part Number: DAC5682Z

Hi all

I connect DAC5682Z and FPGA through Parallel LVDS,Now I can  output sinusoidal waveforms. When the Sin wave frequency was 4MHz, the Voltage value was 1.98V. When the Sin wave frequency was 250MHz, the Voltage value was  only 500mV.Please tell me the reason,Is this normal?

  • Hi Chen Chen35,

We are taking a closer look into your issue, and will be back with you soon.

Can you please explain what your output network looks like for the analog output?

    Best Regards,

    Dan

  • Hi Chen,

It looks like you are running into sync roll off section of the DAC. As your output frequency get closer to Fs/2(sampling frequency/2) the output of DAC will follow the sinc response of DAC. Try increasing the sampling frequency of DAC and data rate accordingly.
