DAC70508EVM: Questions for DAC70508 VDD/VIO Power Supply Issue

Hi Experts,

Our customer is evaluating DAC70508 EVM, and found a strange issue when VDD/VIO used the same 3.3V power supply, it can not change REF DIV and Output Gain registers correctly, but if used the separated voltage like VDD=5V, VIO=3.3V, it can work normally. Do we have any special requirements for VDD and VIO for this device?

Hi Jacky,

Thank you for your query. There is a constraint on the headroom between the VDD and REF as per section 7.3 of the datasheet. This limits the max reference value to 1.55V at 3.3V VDD. As the internal reference is 2.5V, the REFDIV must be on to get the output.
