ADS8568: Interfacing ADS8568 to Arduino Uno (or similar microcontroller)

Part Number: ADS8568

Hi,

I've been poking around around the datasheet for the ADS8568 and I am a little confused on how to wire a ADS8568 to a microcontroller. If I am reading it correctly, is the device configured in using the CONVST, FS, and SCLK pins as inputs into the ADS8568 to trigger data reads and using the SDO pins as the inputs into the microcontroller to collect the data?

Thanks,

Spencer

  • Hello,

You are correct in your findings.

This device though is more complex than that, In addition the pins you mentioned, there is a BUSY pin, and CONVST_A/B/C/D and other pins that can also be controlled by the microcontroller.

The datasheet provides a pin functions table provides a description for each pin, and a type (DI= Digital Input, DO=Digital Output, AI= Analog Input, so on) I would suggest reading this to know how to set and connect all the pins on the device correctly.

Also, the EVM for this part has a User's Guide which provides a schematic for the board, this will also prove helpful as to how to connect the device correctly.

How are you looking to use the device? If you have any specific questions, please let me know

    Regards

    Cynthia
