Dear Forum Team,

i am currently using the ADS125H02EVM together with "Delta-Sigma EvaluaTIon Software" via TivaWareGeneric Bulk Device.

This works quite fine, if i do not request too many samples (>300000). But no problem, keeping the samplecount < 300000 did the job.

But now i need to setup somehow automated tests and would like to write my own code to control the EVM. Is there any description / app-note / howto describing the EVM / TIVA interface?

Hi Martin,

We don't have a dedicated app note on this topic since we don't support modifications to the EVM software. However, if you feel comfortable wring the code to do this, you can try to re-program the EVM by using the debugger on the Tiva LaunchPad (http://www.ti.com/tool/EK-TM4C1294XL) and connecting to the JTAG signals on the ADS125H02EVM.

The only supporting documentation we do have are the EVM Schematic at the end of the ADS125H02 Evaluation Module (Rev. A) User's Guide and the ADS125H02 Example C Code (Rev. A), which is a subset of the EVM Firmware.

The example code implements TivaWare library function calls, so if you use the TivaWare library example projects you should be able to add the ADS125H02 Example C code into a TivaWare project fairly easily. Just note that you'd have write the code to initialize the MSP432E peripherals and the code to communicate with the PC (if that’s what you intended to do). For those functions, referencing the TivaWare library examples would probably be our best resource.

Hi Chris,

maybe i explaind my needs wrongly - i do not want to change FW in the EVM, but write a different SW on Windows/Linux to control the EVM.

Hi Martin,

I'm sorry I misunderstood. If you have the means to communicate with a USB Bulk device, then the interface with the EVM firmware is not very complicated. I provided some additional details on a related EVM here: https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters/f/73/p/753711/2784517.

The ADS125H02EVM User's Guide doesn't provide a table of ASCII commands, like the ADS1261EVM User's Guide. However, most of the commands are the same for both EVMs, and any extra commands for the ADS125H02EVM are shown in the EVM GUI.
