Hi sir,

DAC5574 setting: I2C set to 400KHz and sample rate 36 points,

Waveform is required as follows, T=16.667ms.

But THD performance are very poor, how to setting DAC5574 parameters to improve THD (2nd – 10th).

Hi Tseng,

Thank you for your query. THD is not the correct parameter to look at when you are generating a waveform other than sine or cosine. As your requirement is sawtooth waveform generation, you can look at DAC53401 or DAC43401 which have a sawtooth waveform function.

In case you need higher THD with sinewave generation, I would suggest you go for a higher resolution DAC with an LDAC input pin for synchronous update.

My application is DAC simultaneous output two-channel sawtooth waveform to control device. Is there a suitable DAC?

Hi Roger,

DAC53401 is a single-channel DAC. But you can use 2 DACs and configure them to the same I2C address. Otherwise, use the broadcast address to trigger the sawtooth waveform.
