ADC12D1600: Maximum LVDS speed in non-demux mode

Hello, I'm considering to use a ADC12D1000 or ADC12D1600 in one of my new designs. I would like to use the data converter in non-demux non-des mode. Can I still use the dataconverter at the highest possible speed? Is the LVDS bus fast enough to transfer all the data over two buses in stead of four? The datasheet doesnot give a clear indication about the maximum speed of the LVDS busses.

Hi Drac82,

The max output data rate for the ADC12D1600's LVDS bus can handle is 1Gbps.

So please use the 1:2 Demux Non-Des mode.

Especially when clocking ADC12D1600 at full rate.

Hi Rob,

Sorry to bother you again. I just stumbled on another post and the content seems to contradict with what you say. In this post a TI employee suggest that the ADC12D1600 can be clocked out at 1.6Gsps with 1 LVDS bus running at 800MHz DDR. Can you help me with explaining this? What am I missing?

Hi Drac82,

I apologize for the delay.

I verified this with the designer and given the large over-design margin, the ADC12D1x00 and ADC12D1x00RF can safely operate with LVDS speeds up to 1.8 Gbps in nonDeMUX mode.
