ADS7042: Timing diagram

Hi Team,

I read datasheet of ADS7042 but I got confused. Can I ask some question?

There are a timing diagram at Fig 1. The output data is shown as data of sample N. But I think the data of sample is N-1.

When is the output data at this timing was sampled?

At the datasheet of ADS7057 , it is shown as the data of Sample N-1. Which does it correct? Or ADS7057 has a different timing circuit from ADS7042?

Koji,

It turns out that both data sheet are correct, although I understand your confusion as I also thought this was a problem. The two devices operate slightly differently. The ADS7042 has no latency. That is the conversion result for the ADC clocks out immediately after the acquisition cycle. The ADS7056 on the other hand, has one cycle of latency. In other words, after the acquisition cycle completes, the data will not be clocked out until the next cycle. The figures below should help clarify.
