DAC39J84EVM: Use the DAC39J84EVM for AWG with DC outputs

Part Number: DAC39J84EVM

For an Arbitrary Waveform Generator, given the four DAC outputs of this device, is there any reason that I can't use this part as if it was simply four independent DAC's, or is it necessary to only operate as two DAC pairs as in the usual RF app?

  • Doug,

If you do not need complex data, you can operate this part as four independent DAC's. Most customers use this part with complex data and feed the outputs of two DAC's to a quadrature modulator. But each DAC can be used to drive individual transformers (as is on the current TI DAC39J84EVM) or amplifiers if desired.
