DAC7822: For update rate , recommend circuit

Part Number: DAC7822
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS4281, TINA-TI, DAC8822

Dear Sir or Madam

I have some questions.

1:Does "Update Rate of 20.4MSPS" described in the data sheet mean the time from data input to output?

2:Please tell me recommend circuit for DAC7822 and THS4281.

3:Do you have  TINA-TI  model of DAC7822

Best Regards,

  • Hello,

Welcome to E2E and thank you for your query.

    Please find my comments below:

    1. The update rate specifies the speed of the digital interface. The DAC output update typically gets limited by the output settling time. You can go through this training for better understanding of the DAC update rate vs settling time: https://training.ti.com/lessons-precision-dacs-settling-time-vs-update-rate

    2. The circuit for DAC7822 and THS4281 will be similar to that provided in Figure 39 and Figure 40. Use THS4281 as the output buffer.

    3. There is a TINA model for DAC8822. You can use that for DAC7822.

    Hope that answers your questions.
