ADS1260-Q1: Automotive ADC with integrated (ASIL) safety functions

Hi team,

We have a customer looking for an Automotive ADC with the following specifications:
- Automotive ADCs with integrated (ASIL) safety functions (CRC, internal reference monitoring, error flags, feedback of read channel ID)
- At least 4 single-end channels.

The nearest was ADS1260-Q1 but without "feedback of read channel ID".

Do we have a device with the complete requirement of the customer?

    thanks for reaching out with your question.

    Unfortunately we do not have an ADC available today which was specifically designed for functional safety applications. However our ADCs can certainly be used in a functional safety application. Checking if the device is suitable for the application is always the responsibility of the customer.

    As you noted, we have devices available today which integrate some features which might be helpful in functional safety applications.
    The ADS1260-Q1 seems to be the closest fit for what you are describing. ADS131M04 might be another option, but it is not yet AEC-Q100 qualified.

    Do you have any more details about the target application and the ADC performance requirements? Is this for a BMS?

    Hi,

    thanks for your reply. Yes, our application is a BMS. We don't need a high performance ADC in this case, even a 12bit converter would be sufficient.
    But AEC-Q100 is a must, so ADS131M04 is not an option.
    Summarized the best option from Texas is the ADS1260-Q1 so far.
