ADS8339EVM-PDK: Bad SNR and THD performance measured on EVM

Part Number: ADS8339EVM-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PSIEVM

Hi Team,

My customer tested the ADS8339EVM and found that the SNR and THD were not good (80 and -74 dB, respectively)

The input signal source is the PSIEVM. Below is the test setup

Here's the config of the PSIEVM.

Here's what they measured.

We've checked that JP4 on the ADS8339EVM was closed so the EVM was configured to accept bipolar input.

Also, we've enabled the filter on the PSIEVM by installing JP1 and JP3.

Do you have any thoughts about this?

Thanks.

Roy

  • Hello Roy,

Everything looks correct in your test setup.  I'm not sure what exact SNR and THD the EVM can achieve, but it should be much better than the measurements that you took.

Can you check the voltage on your power supply?  It should be at least 5.6V with everything power-up.
