BP-DAC11001EVM: LDAC does not toggle

Part Number: BP-DAC11001EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-EXP432E401Y, , DAC11001A

I am trying to look at the glitch energy of the DAC11001A using the BP-DAC11001EVM and MSP-EXP432E401Y. I am trying to trigger on LDAC in order to see the glitch in the output voltage. I have the eval software set to use LDAC, not SYNC. I have removed J4. Measuring LDAC using J6. When I change the dac output value in software, LDAC does not pulse low and the dac output voltage is not changed. If I read the registers, I can see that LDACMODE is set to 1.

If I replace J4 (so LDAC is tied low), the dac output voltage does change when change it in software, even though LDACMODE is still 1.

Is it possible to use LDAC with this setup?

  • Hi Justin,

Thank you for your query. The LDAC is an input pin. It doesn't toggle based on the software. The LDAC input can be used to update the DAC output.

    Hope that answers your question.
