DAC8742HEVM:set to FOUNDATION Fieldbus / PROFIBUS PA mode by UART

Part Number: DAC8742HEVM

Hi,

The DAC8742HEVM card contains about 18 configuration jumpers. Could you tell me how to configure the card in Fieldbus mode and communication by UART? I already managed to do tests through SPI but for UART I still can't send and receive anything.

You could also tell me if the GUI EVM software should have any special configuration.
 
I would like to build a small network with two cards that are sent and receive information

    Hi Francisco,

    With the US Holiday weekend, our responses will be delayed.  You should get a full response Monday.

    In the meantime, I will refer you to table 11 in the EVM user guide to get started.  You should position the jumpers in the PAFF mode.

    Hello,

    I would also add JP13 to the list of HW configurations if the board is being used on its own without the GUI to select the UART vs SPI interface modes. If using the board with the GUI there is a control on the front-panel which can be used to select the interface mode while JP13 is left floating.
