i would like to know if i can Interfacing 7 channel from ADS8686SEVM-PDK Evaluation Module with F28379D Delfino Experimenter Kit (TMDSDOCK28379D)

and if it possible to Connect LCD to the same board (F28379D Delfino Experimenter Kit TMDSDOCK28379D). If possible, which LCD is okay? .

My application is to build numerical relay that can take at least 7 simultaneously analog input the board must connected to LCD for human interface, the board also must able to connect to Ethernet to take information from the cloud , the board also must have output signal to circuit breaker in case of a fault ....so with these a lot requirement i need multi-board interfacing.

Hi mohamed,

ADS8686SEVM-PDK contains ADS8686SEVM and PHI controller card, the EVM board can be connected to F28379D Delfino MCU through parallel or serial interface. For LCD display, you will have to check with the dedicated support team on C2000 microcontroller forum.

If you need 7 simultaneous input channels, ADS8588S is a right ADC for you, the ADS8588SEVM is available as well. ADS8686S has 16 input channels, however it can only support dual simultaneous sampling channels.

is that mean ADS8686SEVM-PDK only do 2 channel simultaneously at time ? if that so is ADS8588SEVM can be connected to F28379D Delfino MCU ?

Hi mohamed,

That's true for ADS8686S. ADS8588SEVM can be connected to Delfino MCU as long as they can support standard parallel or serial (SPI) interface which usually they have. You have to check the datasheet and user guide of Delfino MCU.

sorry for pothering bothering you but how exactly i can connect ADS8588SEVM-PDK to LAUNCHXL-F28379D which extra component should i buy and how to connect ?

Hi,

The serial interface may be simple for your connection between circuit boards, ADS8588S needs /CS,SCLK,DOUTA/DOUTB, also CONVSTA and CONVSTB, BUSY signals for serial communications, also need power supplies and ground connections to ADS8588SEVM. You should check the resource and connectors on LAUNCHXL-F28379D to see where these signals are.
