ADS4249: Driving circuit transformer for 270MHz

Hi E2E,

Good day.

Our customer would like to know what transformer should be used for a driving circuit above 270MHz? From the datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ads4249.pdf), it was stated that ADTL2-18 transformers can be used for the Figure 76 configuration, however, the figure shows two 1:1 transformer, but the ADTL2-18 is a 1: 2 transformer. Can you please advise on this?

Hi Carlo,

If the transformers will be used in a back-to-back configuration (as shown in the figure that you are referencing), I don't think this will be an issue since the impedance transforms back to its original impedance (1:2 || 2:1 ).

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the quick response. To conclude, there will be no issue in using the ADTL2-18 transformer in Figure 76. Is this correct?
