ADC31RF80: ADC31RF80 lowest sample rate and reference concern

Dear colleague,

Our customer is evaluating our ADC31RF80, but

(1). The lowest sampling rate = 1.5GSPS. However, the sampling rate we need is 1GSPS.
Is there any possibility to let ADC working at 1GSPS?
(2). Reference for ADC is never mentioned. Can we provide the reference's characteristics?

Hi Rock,

1. The lowest sampling rate possible is 1.5 GSPS. It is not possible for the ADC to work at 1 GSPS.

2. Differential input full scale is 1.35V p-p. Input pins are self biased with common mode voltage of 1.2V.

For RF ADCs only RF parameters are relevant and are mentioned in the datasheet. DC voltages are set internally. See DC coupling section in datasheet for more details.

If ADC31RF80 can't work at 1GSPS, customer need to change solution, do we have another hero devices?

Hi Rock,

We don't have a single channel 1GSPS ADC. But one channel can be powered down to save power. Power consumption is 2.68W for both channels active and only 1.85W with one channel active. (See Table 7 in datasheet for more details)

ADS54J60 requires an export license. It has to be <10-bit to have 1GSPS without a license.
