ADS5400-SP: Disclaimer statement

Part Number: ADS5400-SP

"These units are intendedfor engineeringevaluationonly and are tested to temperature rating of 25°C only.  These units are not suitablefor qualification, production, radiation testing or flight use. Parts are not warrantedfor performanceon full MIL specified temperature range of of -55 deg C to 125 deg C) or operating life.

  • Kenneth,

Do you have a question regarding this?

    Regards,

    Jim

  • I would like to screen these parts simply because I have found that flight parts are not available, but am confused by the disclaimer on page 1 of the data sheet:

"  These units are intended for engineering evaluation only.  They are processed to a non-compliant flow (e.g., no burn-in., etc.)  and are tested to temperature rating of 25 deg C. only.  These units are not suitable for qualification, production, radiation, testing or flight use.  Parts are not warranted for performance on full MIL-specified temperature range of  -55 deg c to 125 deg C or operating life."

Does this mean that there is a very high likelihood that these parts will not pass screening?

  • Kenneth,

This statement is in regards to Engineering Evaluation (/EM) samples only.  TI utilizes these for mechanical data, but typically the functionality is not at the level of our “flight parts” (ie 5962-0924001VXC/ ADS5400MHFSV).

Flight parts are actually orderable. If you are just confirming the mechanical structures and layout, ADS5400HFS/EM will be fine. If you are trying to start qualification, you need to be use the 5962-0924001VXC or ADS5400MHFSV.

    Regards,

    Jim
