ADS5400-SP: Datasheet Clarification Abs Max differentials

Part Number: ADS5400-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ABS

I need a favor.  Referring to ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS on page 2 of the attached file.

The absolute maximum rating across (differential voltage) AINP & AINN for both AC and DC have a range, instead of a single number.

For example, for AC: 1.25V to 3.75V, if the device will not be damaged with ±3.75V across input stage, what does ±1.25V. refer to aka  What is the lower number for in these specs? Same for DC case.

 Thank you for your help.

  • Hi Michael,

The input will swing around a common mode voltage, VCM, of +2.5V. The typical max fullscale specification is 2Vpp. Therefore, the abs max is 2.5Vpp (1.25V - 3.75V) that can be tolerated on the analog inputs.
