AFE7225EVM: Connecting with TSW1406 and TSW1405

Part Number: AFE7225EVM

I would like to validate a simulation of wired data transmission. For this purpose the AFE7225EVM shall be used. My idea is to generate the data patterns in my simulation and to load them with the HSDC Pro into the TSW1406 and send them in a continuous loop. I want to connect my channel to the DAC output and the DAC input on the same module and capture the data with the TSW1405. I found out that I need a second PC to connect the TSW1405 and TSW1406 at the same time and read the data from the HSDC Pro. The received data should be further processed on the PC.

Would the setup work as described?

Does the required software also run on Windows10?

  • Nico,

i am a litte confused about what you are trying to accomplish. To help me further understand, can you draw out a block diagram of your setup in powerpoint labeling the blocks to illustrate what you are trying to do? Make sure you draw out the flow of data.

  • Yusuf,

Thanks for responding. This is the block diagram of the setup which I would like to use.

  • Hey Nico,

Thanks for the block diagram it really clears things up. You can have both the TSW1405 and TSW1406 connected to the same PC at the same time. But you can only talk to program one at a time. using HSDC pro. Once you have connected both boards to the PC, upon opening HSDC pro you should see the option to connect to either of the two. Select the one you wish to program. When ready to switch and program the other board, select "Instrument Options" at the top of the screen, and select "disconnect from board". Select "instrument options" again, and choose "connect to board". Then you can select the other board for programming.

    Hope this helps.
