ADS1261EVM: Trouble with the Delta-Sigma Evaluation Software

Part Number: ADS1261EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , DELTASIGMAEVAL-GUI

Has anyone recently downloaded and installed this software along with the ADS1261EVM-DVCPKG? I have been unable to get the device drivers to be recognized. Furthermore, when I try to follow the "Manual installation path" described in the user manual (section 2.3.2.2), I am unable to locate the "usb_dev_bulk.ini" file that it mentions. What gives? Is something wrong with the DELTASIGMAEVAL-GUI-installer.exe?

Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks,

-Adrian

  • Hi Adrian,

Welcome to the E2E forum! I'm sorry to hear you are having driver issues. Sometimes the driver does not properly install if the EVM was connected prior to the drivers being installed.  This would be one condition where manual intervention would be needed.  The drivers can be found at the location shown below.  You must have admin rights.

  • Hi Bob,

Thanks for pointing me to the right file path to find the usb_dev_bulk.inf file!

Tried installing DELTASIGMAEVAL-GUI.exe, and then ADS1261EVM-dvcpkg.exe (all before ever plugging the ADS1261EVM board in), but Device Manager still showed only a generic bulk device whose drivers could not be found.

Went to the directory you specified and installed the usb_dev_bulk.inf file. Now Device Manager recognizes a TivaWare Bulk Device with device status: "This device is working properly". But even after restarting the evaluation software and re-plugging the ADS1261EVM, I still see the error message in the bottom left corner: "Hardware not connected. Ready...". Any other ideas on how to get this going?

    Thanks,

    -Adrian

  • Hi Adrian,

Are you running the GUI before you plug in the EVM board?  Or are you plugging in the EVM and then running the GUI?  I have seen some issues in the past where the EVM is not recognized if the EVM is plugged into the USB after the GUI is running.  I would try plugging in the EVM, verify that it is recognized in device manager, and then start the GUI.  Let me know if that works, and if not send me a screen shot of the GUI.

    Best regards,

    Bob B

  • Hey Bob,

I was plugging in the ADS1261EVM after starting the GUI. Tried reversing the order, lo and behold it works! Thanks a bunch for your swift and accurate assistance.
