DAC5662EVM: How to use evaluation module properly

Part Number: DAC5662EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC5662,

Hello,

I am having trouble getting any output from the DAC5662 EVM. Here is my setup:

What am I doing wrong here? I'm not seeing any output at the J5, J8, J1, or J2. Originally I was applying a multi-bit signal, changing signal on both of the input channels but when that did nothing, I changed to a static 3.3v signal on one of the upper bits but with no results.

  • Hi David,

Do you have access to TSW1400EVM pattern generator? You should be able to connect the DAC5662EVM to TSW1400EVM and use the HSDCpro software to generate any signal you want and get an output on the DAC. Please follow the instruction in the quick start guide below.

Second thing I want to point out is with the default setup both the outputs of the DAC are transformer coupled which means no DC signal can flow though it so you will not see any DC signal on the DMM. You should use either a scope or a spectrum analyzer to look at the output.

    Regards,

    Neeraj

  • We do not have a TSW1400EVM, I will try a spectrum analyzer to the view the output. Is there a way to get DC output from this evaluation module?

    Thank you,
