ADS7959: Selection of multi channel SAR ADC

Hi,

Currently in my design i am using 2 Channel SAR ADC . The part number being ADS7949. In my next design number of channels required is 8 Channels used for monitoring temperature from an external board.

Currently planned to use ADS7959. Please let me know if my selection criterion is OK.

Hello,

Note that the maximum sampling rate is a little lower on the ADS7959, but otherwise this is a great 8-channel general purpose monitoring ADC. The ADS7038 or ADS7028 are two newer devices which may fit the requirements as well.

Thank you very much for the details. One more followup question. Can we have the similar ADC Chipset which can be supported on I2C interface?

Sure. Take a look at the ADS7128 and ADS7138. For lower channel counts, the ADS7142 is a good option as well.
