DAC8554: Only receives the first data set

Hi everybody,

I have a board with DAC8554 and I am using SPI interface of Labview FPGA to communicate with the board. LDAC input of DAC8554 is grounded, ENABLE and SYNCH are connected to CS output of SPI interface. The first command I send after turning on the power works perfectly fine. I have tried many different commands and there is no problem in any. However, the second command doesn’t change anything. The only way to reprogram is to turn off and on again the power connection. There is no problem with the other chips I have on the board (i.e. DAC8551).

I would appreciate any help.

Hi Mustafa,

I recommend you look at the SPI lines with a scope or logic analyzer to ensure all the interface timing, edge relationships, and data format requirements are being met. I suspect you have a simple data formatting issue.

Thanks for the message. The problem is solved after I disconnect enable and chip select signal, and connect enable to the gnd.
