Hi TI-team.

My customer have a question.

Regarding the data format, it is recognized that it will be 0 except for [10 data bits] because it is described in “Figure 4. ADC101S051 Serial Timing Diagram” and “USING THE ADC101S051” of the data sheet.

Is it possible that the value other than [10 data bits] will be 1 ?

If so, could you tell me in what case it would be 1 ?

Hello,

The device will always have three leading zeros and two lagging zeros to complete the 16 SCLK frame.

Are you seeing anything different?

Is there a case where the red frame in the figure below is 1 instead of 0 ?

If it can be 1, could you please tell us in what cases it could be 1 ?

Hello Koji-san,

No, the device will not show 1 for the above red square. It will always be 0.

If a customer is seeing 1, this is not correct.

Please let me know to help correct it

Does it mean that the red frame is always 0 and never 1 ?

It has not been confirmed that the red frame becomes 1 in my customer's environment.

If it becomes 1, can it be judged as abnormal ?

Koji-San,

This is abnormal.

Would you please get an oscilloscope shot of the digital communication lines. This will provide a visual check. This might be due to a timing error.

I understand that 0 goes to 1 is abnormal.

It seems to be 0 in my customer environment.

They were worried if 0 became 1.

If 1 is displayed I tell them to take an oscilloscope shot of the digital communication line.
