ADS8910B: Maximum instantaneous noise leve

Good afternoon. Now, I am considering the possibility of using your ADC in the development of our company's devices. The value of the maximum instantaneous noise level of the ADC is crucial when choosing an ADC. What parameter in the ADC datasheet is responsible for the maximum instantaneous noise level of the ADC? By the maximum instantaneous noise level of the ADC, I mean the value by which the true value of the sample can change.

    The noise in the ADS8910 is dominated by thermal noise.  Figure 20 in the datasheet shows the DC histogram; 0.65LSB standard deviation and about 5LSB peak to peak.  For the case where Vref=5V, this noise is equal to 24.8uVrms, or 191uVpp.

    However, since this mainly thermal noise, you can average readings to reduce this noise further, by 1/sqrt(N), where N is the number of samples averaged.

    For example, if you averaged 10 readings, the peak-to-peak noise would reduce from 191uVpp to 191/sqrt(10)=60uVpp.
