DAC8750: Should HART-IN terminal be connected to GND directly when the terminal is not used?

One of my customers is evaluating DAC8750 to replace AD5420 with the device.

For the evaluation, they have the following question.

Could you please give me your reply?

Q. Should HART-IN terminal be connected to GND directly or is open OK because AD5420 doesn't have HART-IN terminal.

Nakai-san,

I would say my suggestion is that the HART-IN pin is AC coupled to GND as we have demonstrated in the EMC/EMI reinforced reference design (https://www.ti.com/tool/TIPD153), however this is not necessarily required. This is just the optimal suggestion to prevent the HART-IN high-impedance input node from potentially allowing for EMC/EMI sources to be coupled into the output.

This is a conservative, non-required suggestion.
