TSW14J56EVM: 10MHz Reference out

Is there a 10MHz ( or any frequency) reference that I can get out of the TSW14J56EVM to feed a frequency synthesizer. I am using the ADC32RF45EVM with the TSW14J56EVM and would like the sampling to be phase locked with a local oscillator in my design.

Hi Aravind,

LMK04828 on ADC32RF45EVM is the master clocking device in the ADC32RF45EVM + TSW14J56EVM setup. TSW14J56EVM gets reference clock from the LMK04828.

So to lock your frequency synthesizer with this setup, you can set frequency synthesizer to internal reference and connect the 10MHz reference out from synthesizer to LMK CLKIN (J7) SMA connector on the ADC32RF45EVM. Once this is done, LED D3 should turn ON to indicate that LMK is locked to 10MHz reference input.

Actually the frequency synthesizer I am using requires a 10MHz external reference input signal for it to generate the required LO output. There is no internal reference (as far as I know). That's why I want to know if there is a reference out in either the ADC32RF45EVM or the TSW14J56EVM.

Hi Aravind,

In that case, you need to connect another signal generator (with output set to10MHz) to both LMK CLKIN SMA on ADC EVM and your frequency synthesizer's external reference. There's no reference output from either of the EVMs.
