Hi DAC team,
My customer wants to use the output of this device to connect to another board via a 3 inch wire. Should he be concerned about signal degradation? Any suggestions to mitigate that without adding an additional part?
Thanks,
Lauren

Hi,
DAC43401 can handle capacitor loads up-to 1nF comfortably. So with 3 inch wire I am not seeing any issues, unless the capacitance of that cable is more than 1nF which is highly unlikely for a 3 inch cable.
Let me know if you need more help.

Hi AK,
Thanks for your reply.
Actually one thing I should have mentioned is they're planning on using a 0.1uF cap on the output (then connected to ground). I did a quick calculation and looks like that will be lower than the min allowed output impedance.
Can you confirm that they cannot/should not do that?
Thanks,
Lauren
Hi
DAC43401 cannot drive 0.1uF cap load at its output. DAC will not be stable. You should have a small series resistor (10 to 22 ohms) to isolate the cap load.
