ADS7057: ADC code output when the AIN is above Vreference

Part Number: ADS7057

Hi Team,

Our customer is working on a customer board using ADS7057.
He would like to know what the ADC code output when the AIN is above Vreference.
Is it clamped to max or min or have a rolling effect?

Assuming the AVDD is 3.3 (as Vref), his AIN is between 3.3 and 3.6 V (not over the abs rating) what the CODE output? is it 01111...(max positive) or has other results.

Please let me know if you have any questions for the customer.

Thanks,

Jonathan

  • Hello,

When the analog input channel voltage is above the full scale range, the output code will be the max scale output (all ones)

In this case, the device has leading and lagging zeros, these bits will still remain zeros even at the max conversion result

    The frame would then be 01 1111 1111 1111 1000

    Regards
