Problems connecting the AMC1210MB-EVM to the computer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1210MB-EVM, LM3S3748

Hi,

We have problems connecting the AMC1210MB-EVM to the computer. The computer is still running with Windows XP as required in the manual.
The USB cable is connected to the computer and there is no new device in the device manager. The installation of the AMC1210MB-EVM-SW software was successful.
The power supply is working properly. (The voltage +3V3 and +5V0 can be measured on the board.)
Is the controler LM3S3748 or is the firmware faulty?

Is the evaluation board defective?
Do I have to swap the board or do you have another idea?

Thank You.

Best regards,
Manuel

  • Hi Manuel,

Welcome to our e2e forum!  Going by the AMC1210MB-EVM Users Guide, are you getting anything at all in the device manager at step 3 (Figure 6)?  Is there any enumeration when you plug-in the USB cable?

  • Hi Tom,

Thank you for your quick reply.
From my point of view, step 2 doesn't work. In the manual under point 2: "... The computer should recognize new hardware and begin
installing the driver. Accept the default settings ..." The computer does not recognize any hardware and no new device is displayed in the device manager.
To rule out other errors, we've swapped a few things: USB cable, USB slot and finally the computer too.

    Do you have another idea?

    Regards,

    Manuel
