ADS8506: Differences between ADS8506IB and ADS8506I

Part Number: ADS8506

Hi Team,

Could you tell me the differences between ADS8506IB and ADS8506I?

My customer is just working on EOL parts replacement(ADS8506I to ADS8506IB) and would like to estimate the test processes involved in the change. As far as I check the datasheet, The only differences are the items related to accuracy, and  the data format and control timing looks same.Am I correct in understanding that the only difference is the item on accuracy?

Regards,

Takashi Onawa

  • Hello Takashi,

Your understanding is correct, ADS8506IB has smaller INL,DNL and Full Sclae Error. The new SAR ADCs which can cover +/-10V bipolar and unipolar input include ADS8661(12-Bit, 1.25mSPS), ADS8665(12-Bit, 500ksps), also 14-Bit ADS867x and 16-Bit ADS868x in the same family, these new ADCs have integrated Analog-Front-End(AFE) and provide better performance.

    Best regards,

    Dale
