ADS1298RECGFE-PDK: SPI COMMUNICATON PROBLEM

Part Number: ADS1298RECGFE-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298R

I meet some problem with spi communication for ADS1298R. I try everything include the following steps:

e2e.ti.com/.../2868427

I just replace the control pins throuth my MCU instead of TMS320, all the settings is default of the board, including the power supply.

I find that the mmb0 board spi signal level is about 5V, Now I need use my MCU to control ADS1298R,

but my chip spi is cmos level(3.3V). Could I use the 3.3V spi directly communicate with ADS1298R?

regards

  • Hello Iauther,

The 5V SPI signals are translated to 3.3V through level shifters in the MMB0 board.

The SPI logic level for the ADS1298R EVM is 3.3V (SPI signals are available on J3) and so yes you can directly communicate with ADS1298R by fly-wiring the digital SPI signals to your MCU. You do not need the MMB0 board.

The power for the EVM comes from J4. You will need to provide additional 5V on J4 pin #10 and the DVDD voltage of 3.3V on TP10.
