ADS8584S: can we achieve 0.5Mbps with this device?

Hi team,

a customer is currently using the ADS8584. we are aware that it has a max throughput of 330ksps. 

however, they might need to sample the signal closer to 0.5Mbps and waive the simultaneous sampling function.

they haven't tried adjusting the oversampling function yet but i would like to get your input/recommendations.

can this device sample the signal up to 0.5Msps?

if not, is there a similar device with higher throughput capability?

    Hi Kevin,

    ADS8584S can support only 330ksps max sampling rate. I guess your customer wants 500ksps sampling rate per channel, thus a non-simultaneous sampling ADC is no a alternative solution because a much higher sampling required to meet the customer's requirement and we do not have that kind of ADC. Also, the oversampling on the ADS8584 helps to get a better SNR performance but can not achieve a higher sampling rate as the customer expects.

    The best solution is using ADS8588H which is a pin-pin compatible ADC to support 500ksps sampling rate per channel in the same ADC family. The software timing is same between these two ADCs. Note that the ADS8588H ADC has 8 input channels instead of 4 channels on the ADS8584S.
