Respected Sir/Madam,
I would like to know how to interface adc containing an i2c( like AD7998 OR anything else that you may like to suggest) ,signal onto beagleboard xm...
so how do we get this adc signal interfaced to the beagleboard.
Thanking you,

Hi doubt d,
Can't help you with a competitors part but you might take a look at the ADS7828 and its associated evaluation module. You have access to the I2C port on the expansion header of the Beagle Board (see section 8.19). You would need to wire from the Beagle Board to the EVM Digital Interface connector and be sure to include a couple ground connections between the two.
HEllo ,
Thank you Tom Hendrick, for replying to my previous post .... in which you had specified the use of ADS7828 EVM that could be interfaced to the Beagleboard xm.
Now i would like to know what kind of an input circuit should be designed for ADS7828.... ( mostly using a buffer OPAMP)...to which any ac/dc input could be provided.
Thanking you,

Hi!
This is the basic circuit:

For the amplifier, you might look into the OPA171.
Hi,
Thank you for your previous reply. As this is only for our academic project .. We would like to know if ADS7828 can be used as it is without its EVM ,to the beagleboard xm a3..
If so, would it require any external circuit for its connection to the beagleboard.
Hi doubt d,
You could simply wire the I2C on you Beagle to the ADS7828, along with power and ground (be sure to add pull ups on the SDA and SCL lines), but this may not give you the performance you are looking for.
The EVM is available, please refer to this URL:

The ADS7823 and ADS7828 are both mounted on one board.
