AMC1210: Evaluation using AMC1210 and AMC1303

Part Number: AMC1210
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1303M2510, , AMC1303EVM, ADS1202

Dear TI Team

Our customers are considering using the AMC1210.

I have been asked by them if there is an EVM that can be evaluated with the following circuit configuration.
(The signal processed by AMC1303M2510DWVR is filtered by AMC1210.)

Please answer the following two questions.
1. 1. Is it possible to use it as described above?
(The internal clock frequency of the AMC1303M2510 is 20MHz, while the maximum input clock frequency of the AMC1210 to CLK1 to CLK2 is 22MHz, so I think it is possible.)

2. If the above usage is possible, we are considering connecting AMC1303EVM and AMC1210MB-EVM as shown in the figure below for evaluation.
(Connect the 3-pin output terminal of the AMC1303EVM to the 9-pin terminal labeled "MODULATOR" of the AMC1210MB-EVM)

Is it possible to evaluate with this configuration?
(We are aware that power supply may need to be done separately.)

Also, if you know any other good way, please let me know.

Best Regards

Y.Ottey

  • Hello Y.Ottey,

Yes, it is possible to evaluate a system using the AMC1210EVM with the AMC1303EVM. The clock input of the AMC1210 is compatible with the clock from the AMC1303.

How will this be used in the final system? Where does the filter output go after it is produced by the AMC1210? If it is being used with an FPGA it is also possible to develop a filter module in the FPGA to handle the AMC1303 output without a second device in the path. An example of this is shown in the ADS1202 reference design here:

    Regards,
