Hi team,

DAC9881can not linearly output 0-10mV, is it because the output type is Buffered Voltage?

At present, which 18 bit or 20 bit DAC chip can linearly output 0-10 mV to replace DAC9881? Can I recommend DAC91001 to customers to replace DAC9881?

Hi,

As mentioned in the e2e thread, this is due to the headroom issues associated with the DAC's output buffer. To mitigate this effect, you can always offset VREFL to +10mV.Now coming back to DAC91001, you can always recommend this device. Please note this is an unbuffered DAC, so that customers have the flexibility to choose the output buffer depends on their application needs.

I'd like to know Is DAC9881 unable to output voltage below 10mV? Or is there any way to make DAC9881 output voltage below 10mV? If not, could you recommend a DAC chip with 18bit or 20bit that can output voltage below 10mV

Hi,

As i suggested earlier you can add +10mV to Vref_L pin of DAC9881.

I suggest go with DAC91001 or DAC11001, these are 18bit and 20bit variants respectively with unbuffered outputs which will suit this requirements.
