Hi David,
The ADS1118EVM was recently updated with a new GUI and hardware. There were a few TI.com mix-ups which kept the older revision SW and UG on the tool folder which is in the process of getting resolved. Let me see if we can share a .PDF here for the next couple of days until the web links are fixed. We'll report back later today.
The SW can be found at this link, but the User's Guide is not correct on that page either. https://www.ti.com/tool/ADS1118EVM-PDK
Here is the schematic:

Hi David,
The EVM GUI is a GUI Composer GUI that is relatively easy to use. I'm including a direct link here:
https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/PADC/ADS1x18EVM_GUI
As to user's guide, this was unfortunately delayed due to a companion development to create a new ADS1018EVM we hope to release soon. As the user's guide will cover both EVMs, some of the GUI screenshots became delayed until the GUI was completed.
From the picture it appears that you are trying to connect another processor to the ADS1118EVM. This should work and it appears that you have made the necessary connections. One thing to take note is the communication to the ADS1118 goes through a level translator, but this should not cause an issue when using 3.3V operation.
If there is a specific issue that you are running into or if further information is needed until we get the user's guide online, please feel free to ask.
Best regards,
Bob B
Hi David,
I have seen this issue a few times in development, where the driver is disassociated with the USB device. The driver itself is a standard OS driver. Take a look at the information in this post:
https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters/f/73/t/925316
In that thread is a link to a manual driver installation and a link on how to manually associate the driver.
Another thing that might work is to try and plug the USB cable into a different port.
Best regards,
Bob B
Hi David,
I'm including the ADS1x18EVM user's guide in this post. This should be available on the web tools page soon.
Have you been successful in getting the GUI to work with the EVM? Were any of my suggestions helpful?
Best regards,
Bob B
