ADS131E04: After the dip in the supply voltage , some times not able to read device ID "0xD0"

Part Number: ADS131E04

Some times after power interruptions Controller not able to read Device ID. Normally i am getting "0xD0". But after these mentioned times it is reading "0x00". Supply is stable during this reading time. SPI frequency = 8MHz

What can be the reason for this?

  • Hello Sandeep,

    Thank you for your post.

A temporary droop in the power supplies can cause what is known as a "brown-out" condition. Some circuits inside the ADS131E04 are getting reset, causing a misread of the device ID and other one-time programmable bits in the register map.

The safest thing to do when this power supply droop occurs is to issue a reset (command or pin toggle) and rewrite the register settings.

    Regards,
