ADS8686S: Sampling rate and resolution clarification

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer needs a minimum sample rate of 1MSPS for each of his 16 channels, each of the channels with at least 16-bits resolution.

Is ADS8686S would be appropriate for his need or there are something better in our High Speed and/or High precision ADCs?

    Hi Art,

    The ADS8686S only simultaneously samples two of the channels at a time, so it would not be possible to accomplish having all 16 channels being read at 1MSPS (only 2 of them).  Furthermore there are some internal analog filters that limit the bandwidth to 400kHz in this device which is advantageous for the primary applications it's used in, but maybe not here.

    Recommend you consider a solution using multiple precision ADCs (multiple ADS9224R, ADS886x or ADS8920 devices), or connect with the HSC team for options there.
