ADS1298RECGFE-PDK: Respiration Circuit

Part Number: ADS1298RECGFE-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2121, ADS1298R

Hello,

We are working on ADS1298R we has Ref. Board now we want to design custom hardware so we have some doubt in the Reference design The MSP430G2121(MCU) use with the  TLV3491 (Op-amp) to give "MSP" Signal. Our question is can we replace the MSP430G2121 with any other circuit. if Yes then can you provide it to us. We are referring the SBAU-181 link is below

Thank You.

  • Hi Koustubh,

The purpose of the MSP430G2121 is to generate the square wave with a frequency corresponding to the respiration rate. You can either use this onboard signal generator or with any external function generator through the SMA connector J6. The red dotted box in Figure 36 is the respiration circuit electrical model to show how we can use the ADS1298R respiration circuitry to determine the respiration rate based on Impedance Pneumography.  Please let us know if this helps to answer your question.

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your response. So i can use either any  MCU or an external function generator to generate the square wave with a frequency corresponding to the respiration rate.

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi Koustubh,

    Yes. You are correct.

    Thanks.
