ADS7253: Can I set CS as low for constant to do sample as well?

Hi,

According to he manual, CS is the chip select signal. And now, we just use ONE ads7253, we don't need to 'select' ads. Can we just output low level signal(use other GPIOx) to CS and run sampling well? We want to use the SPISTE(CS) as a GPIOy for other function if CS could be constant LOW.

Thank you for your post.

No, you cannot hold /CS low on the ADS7253. /CS edges are required to define each frame, and there must be a minimum number of SCLKs within each frame in order for read and write operations to be valid.
