ADS1282-SP: FSR Formula

Part Number: ADS1282-SP

Hello Team,

My customer would like to confirm for the part number ADS1282-SP, the datasheet indicates INL(Integral Non-Linearity)=0.017%FSR, where FSR is defined as +/- VREF/2*PGA.

They are wondering if the FSR formula can be applied to a case where the AVDD=5V and AVSS=GND.

Regards,

Renan

  • Hello Renan,

Yes, AVSS can be set to ground (0V). All parameter in the datasheet will apply with AVSS set to 0V.

    Regards

    Cynthia

  • Hi Renan,

To add to Cynthia's comment, the input signal to the internal PGA needs to abide by the FSR formula (as you cannot measure differential signals greater than +FS or less than -FS) as well as the input operating range of the PGA, given by equation 2:

    AVSS + 0.7 V < (AINN or AINP) < AVDD – 1.25 V

The FSR is determined by the reference voltage and PGA gain (limiting the max differential voltage you can apply); however, the supplies voltages will also place a limit on the absolute input voltages that can be applied to the PGA.

I hope that answers your question!
