ADS1292: RLD input-referred noise

Hello!

I am still at the schematic/layout step.

I need a very low input-referred noise for my application. However I would also be sensible to some common mode sources: jaw movements , head movements and Bluetooth signals.

Do you know by which amount the input-referred noise is increased when the RLD is enabled?

To obtain the AFE total input-referred noise voltage rms, should I simply add the RLD integrated noise and the input-referred noise voltage stated below

Hi Alexis,

The RLD noise specification mainly specifies the noise contribution of the internal RLD amplifier. In a typical ECG system, the RLD noise will appear as a common-mode signal to the input of AFE. The high CMRR of the device input frontend PGA will help to reject this common-mode noise. If the RLD noise is not common to the input channel, then the RLD noise contribution has to be taken into account in addition to the input-referred noise of the PGA frontend. There are a few useful resources and literature available in TI for signal chain noise analysis. I have listed one you may find helpful below.

If it is common mode then it should be well rejected by the CMRR.
