ADS1299: ADS1299

Part Number: ADS1299

Hi,

I'm working on both EEG and EMG setups with the ADS1299 but I'm a little confused. In EEG, each channel is taken as the differential as across the reference and the electrode, whereas in EMG it's the differential across a pair of electrodes. How does that change my layout with the ADS1299? Do I just connect all negative inputs/or all the positive inputs to the reference for EEG and not for EMG?

Additionally are there any references on using the ADS1299 for EMG vs EEG?

Thanks,

  • Hi Vini,

Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for the post.

The ADS1299 can be used in differential mode measurement or single-ended mode with respect to a reference signal. Please refer to Figure 72 and Figure 73 in the ADS1299 datasheet for reference.

    Thanks
