ADS1294: About power consumption spec

Part Number: ADS1294

Hi team,

A customer wanted to double check the power dissipation spec in the datasheet of ADS1294. Would you please reply the followings?

1. From bellow table, is the power dissipation the sum of IAVDD*AVDD + IDVDD*DVDD? However, the calculated value is 6.3mW, unlike 6.0mW in the spec (typ). Can you explain why it differ?

2. Can you provide the power data of ADS1294?

     AVDD = 3.3V -> typ = ?, max = ?

     DVDD = 1.8V -> typ = ?, max = ?

Thanks,

Sam Lee

  • Hi Sam,

    Thanks for the post.

    1. The power dissipation in the electrical characteristic table is not calculated directly from the AVDD and DVDD current specifications. These are statistical data from the production test. All the power consumption specifications in the electrical characteristic table are for the DVDD test condition of 1.8V.
    2. We do not have the maximum power limit for AVDD-AVSS = 3.3V as the production testing for limits is performed at 3V only. As shown in the table, the maximum power dissipation for ADS1294 will be 4.4mW for AVDD-AVSS = 3V, DVDD = 1.8V, and LP mode (250SPS). You will see a slight power dissipation increase for AVDD-AVSS = 3.3V. I will check with the team to see if I can get the typical value for the AVDD and DVDD current for the ADS1294.

    Thanks

  • Hi TC,

    Thank you for your reply.

    Yes, plesase let me know if you can get the values for ADS1294.

    Best Regards,
