ADS1118EVM: Can I see the data in real time on EVM-GUI?

Hello TI experts,

Last time I asked about the connection of ADS1118EVM to PC ;

finally I could connect to PC with your help, but I got another problem.

I want to see the data in real time, but I can see the data only after data collection is finished.

what I want to see is the changing temperature using K-type thermocouple, but I only can see the data in the same time.

is there any settings that I could not see?

(I changed the 8th bit of config register, I could not see end of data collection at that time, and I cannot see in real time either.)

Hi Chase,

The ADS1118EVM / GUI does not have the capability to show data in real time.

Can I see the data in real time using other tools?

if not, my customer would get trouble with it, because they want to test it before they design into their PCB.

Hi Chase,

I am not aware of any existing tools where the customer can see data in real time. However, they can certainly pair the ADC with the proper processor to collect data and transmit it continuously to a PC.

As a reminder, our EVMs are intended to be used by a customer to evaluate the performance of an ADC and get familiar with its operation. The EVMs are not intended to be used for any particular application, nor are they intended to be used as part of a larger system.
